NOT many people arrange for the happiest day of their life to take place at work, but that's just what Margaret Bebbington did.

Margaret is manager at Carus Green Golf Club, which stands by the River Kent on the outskirts of Kendal, and she decided it was the perfect place to tie the knot with fiance Graham Shepherd.

And the couple, who have known each other since childhood, duly got married in a romantic ceremony before moving indoors for their wedding feast and reception which they celebrated with 150 friends and family.

“It might seem odd to others to get married in my place of work, but the entire operation was so slick, it just didn’t feel like we were in the same place!” explained Margaret.

Just over a year ago, Carus Green unveiled an impressive new extension for its wedding functions, and have been inundated with bookings from couples wanting to celebrate their nuptials in first class facilities with stunning views across the Lakeland fells.

"Having been a ‘Carus bride’ myself, I can now completely understand why people choose to celebrate their big day here,” said Margaret.
