CASUALTIES did the right thing by calling for help early said a spokesman from Kendal Mountain Rescue Team.

Teams were called by Cumbria Police on December 2 after a fell runner fell found himself in difficulty whilst running the Kentmere Horseshoe.

KMRT deployed to the reservoir and were quickly able to locate the runner using the phonefind technology.

They assisted him down safely to the Kentmere Church car park where they then received another rescue call.

A walker had reported themselves in difficulty and gave their location as Thornthwaite Beacon.

The mountain rescue team deployed more volunteers via the Troutbeck park track where they found the walker.

According to KMRT the casualties did the right thing in requesting for help early and followed the instructions that were relayed to them.
