FORTY-five new jobs could be created by steel door manufacturer Strongdor in Carnforth if expansion plans get the go-ahead.
The company is seeking planning consent for larger premises at Carnforth Business Park on Kellet Road.
Plans lodged with Lancaster City Council by director Tim Devenish feature a 6,238 square metre office, storage and distribution building with a loading bay, service yard and staff car parking, on a 1.3 hectare plot.
The bid is recommended for approval by the city council's planning and highways regulatory committee when it meets on Monday (Dec 10).
A report from planners says the industrial-style building is "acceptable" in scale and design, and would bring "positive economic growth" to the north Lancashire town.
Strongdor makes a variety of bespoke steel doors, including explosion-resistant and bullet-resistant doors, and fire doors.
