LEARNING Plus, the Ambleside based self-help learning and community support charity, has received £9,813 from the National Lottery awards.
Co-ordinator Liz Johnston said that the money would be used to further develop creative writing classes. The group also plans to publish a book of work from its Creative Writing and English as a Second Language group.
Learning Plus will be offering a whole range of services in January 2019. Term starts on Tuesday January 8 and learners can look forward to computer drop-in workshops and English as a Second Language class (Tuesdays 1pm to 3pm and Thursdays 6pm to 8pm in term time). In addition, creative writing workshops and activities will be on offer throughout the year and a free buddy scheme for overseas workers is available too.
