A NEW one-way system has been proposed for a Kendal church car park to make it easier for motorists to use.
The Kendal (Kirkland) Trust hopes to gain permission to remove a stone pillar to widen the entrance to Kendal Parish Church car park, in Kirkland.
The parking area is managed by South Lakeland District Council.
According to the plans, visitors face the difficulty of reversing out of a cul-de-sac if they find no spaces free. The one-way system has been designed to prevent this. The parking spaces would also be widened and the number of disabled spaces doubled, to six.
Resurfacing of the car park is planned this April.
The plans are with SLDC.
