FAMILIES are invited to plant a snowdrop in memory of a loved one at a special event at Brockhole on Windermere.

A snowdrop walk is being held from 11am to 3pm on Sunday, February 3 to raise funds for the charity, Child Bereavement UK.

The annual event is a special day to remember the babies and children who have died and the children who are bereaved each year.

Individual snowdrops will be on sale and a book of remembrance donated by a bereaved family will be available to sign.

Alan Titchmarsh, the charity’s patron, said: “The snowdrop walk is a special day to remember the babies and children who have died and the many children bereaved each year.

“It is an opportunity to admire the stunning walled garden in the winter months.”

There will also be a children’s treasure hunt where youngsters can explore the stunning gardens at Brockhole on Windermere.

Child Bereavement UK has bereavement practitioners covering the whole of Cumbria who support young people and families when they face bereavement.

Entrance to the event is free. However donations for the snowdrops will be gratefully received.
