A NEW class which aims to re-create the atmosphere of dance halls in the 1950s and 1960s will begin next week.
Freelance dance teacher Christine Jamieson, of Kendal, is organising the ‘Community Come Dancing’ sessions at Kendal Parish Church Hall.
Although predominantly aimed at elderly people, the sessions are ‘intergenerational’ and pupils from Kendal’s Queen Katherine School will serve refreshments and chat to those attending.
The classes, costing £3 per session, are on Mondays from 2.45pm-3.45pm on January 14 and 28; February 11 and March 4 and 18.
They are run in conjunction with Dignity in Dementia but are open to anyone.
Phone Christine on 07790503148 for more details.
