TV presenter Drew Pritchard paid a surprise visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum today, January 9.

In the area scouting for locations for the new series of hit show Salvage Hunters, the motor enthusiast and collector was given a personal tour by the Backbarrow attraction's operations manager Chris Lowe.

“I have to say this is one of the best museums in the country," said Mr Pritchard, who added that the day brought back fond memories of a previous visit five years ago.

"It’s definitely up there as one of the top three motor museums in this country for sure, if not in the whole of Europe.

"I like it an awful lot. It’s a huge mix and I really enjoy it."

The presenter, whose new show Salvage Hunters Classic Cars comes out next week, said he was tempted to film a whole episode of his new series there.

He was glowing in his praise of the museum and picked out Donald Campbell’s Bentley as his favourite exhibit.

“You can just immerse yourself in this place for a few hours," he said.

"I advise anybody to call in. It’s a wonderful place.”
