NORTHERN Ballet's Bite Size Ballet the Tortoise and The Hare is being screened at Zeffirellis at Ambleside on Saturday, January 26 (2pm). Performed as part of the Leeds-based dance company's season of interactive ballets for children, narrated by Anita Rani, the bite sized production on the big screen is packed with playful characters and spellbinding music and tells of a speedy Hare who would never stop talking about how fast he could run. Sick of being teased for his slowness, Tortoise challenged him to a race. No one thought he could win, but life is full of surprises. In 2014 Northern Ballet won Best Company at the inaugural Taglioni European Ballet Awards and in 2016 were honoured by the Best Dance Award at the South Bank Show Sky Arts Awards.
