A Yellow weather warning for the North West has been issued as wintry conditions are set to hit.
The warning has been set from today. This could bring travel disruptions across Cumbria this afternoon with some roads and railways likely to be affected.
The Met Office said: “A band of rain, sleet and snow will move slowly eastwards across England and southern Scotland during Friday.
Good morning! A sharp frost, with icy patches in eastern England, will be followed by a cold and bright day in the north & east. Cloud, rain and hill snow will spread from the west. Snow may briefly fall at low levels. Stay up-to-date here: https://t.co/lvmvtqQWBN ^Kayleigh pic.twitter.com/ChfBMSsRbQ

“There remains uncertainty in the extent of any snow, but there is the potential for 1-4 cm of snow to accumulate on some higher level routes, chiefly above 250 metres.”
