A TOP-flight Cumbrian decorating firm has been ranked the best commercial contractor in the UK by leading manufacturer, Dulux, for the second year running.
In December, AJM Decorating Ltd, based in Kendal, was announced as the highest-scoring business under the nationally accredited Dulux Commercial Contract Partnership Scheme.
The firm, which has decorated some of the most prestigious properties across Cumbria and the North West, was awarded 98 out of 100 during the stringent independent inspection last month.
The assessors took into account a range of factors including AJM’s business processes and quality of workmanship on site.
Adrian Morris, managing director at AJM, said his entire team was celebrating the hard-earned accolade.
“We are absolutely over the moon to have achieved the highest score in the independent audit and to have improved upon last year’s mark.
“To be named best commercial decorator in the UK two years in a row is an incredible achievement and testament to the hard work every member of staff at AJM consistently puts in.”
Adrian added: “The standard we set ourselves is extremely high, so to be ranked best in the UK is wonderful recognition and something we’re all very proud of.”
AJM Decorating has been operating from south Cumbria for 25 years, and has its headquarters at Shap Road Industrial Estate.
The firm carries out both commercial and domestic decorating, and employs 45 experienced decorators throughout Cumbria, and covering North Yorkshire, North Lancashire and southern Scotland.
It also operates an apprenticeship scheme to offer structured training and mentorship to new recruits, with six new apprentices this academic year.
AJM has completed major decorating schemes on a range of buildings across the region in recent years including the new Kentdale Land Rover dealership in Kendal, Carus Green Golf Club, and Linthwaite House Hotel, Windermere
Its accreditation as part of the Dulux Commercial Contract Partnership provides its customers with peace of mind that their project will be completed to the highest standard, as well as a full three-year guarantee on all exterior work undertaken using Dulux products.
