A MOTHER of three and the owner of Sunny Brow Holistic Retreat centre in Ambleside has published her first cook book dedicated to ‘Mother Earth.’

Suzanne Saunders, also known as Suzy, has written a cook book that focuses on seasonal recipes with a ‘holistic fusion of nutritional awareness.’

“Conscious Cookery is more than just a cook book,” she said.

“It’s a personal journey towards healthy living. I’ve always said ‘we are what we eat’. There is no one way that is right for everyone. You need to look at what you are and what nourishes you.”

Divided into seasonal sections the book helps the reader follow recipes with ingredients that are only available at a certain time of the year.

She said: “It’s important to contact with the energies of the seasons and to the ingredients that nature provides.

“We need to look after ourselves better as well as Mother Earth’s natural state.

“As a family we all worked together to produce this book.”

From recipes including nettle and wild garlic soup to caramelised onion tart and chocolate and beetroot brownie, the book is bursting with nourishing and inspiring food.

It is a fusion of many elements of nature and cooking to help the reader build on a love of simple organic whole foods that suit their body.
