LIBERAL Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable is to address a Cumbria Chamber of Commerce in Kendal next month.
He will share his thoughts on the Brexit impasse at Westminster and other business issues and take part in a panel question and answer session with Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron and Chamber Chief Executive Rob Johnston.
"Sir Vince is one of the most vocal critics of Theresa May's Withdrawal Agreement and of Brexit in general," said Mr Johnston. "The Chamber has never taken a stance on Brexit, either for or against, because we know it divides businesses just as it divides the general population.
"But we're delighted to get Sir Vince here at what is a critical moment for the future of the UK.
"This is a golden opportunity for Cumbrian businesses to put him on the spot and tell him our concerns - whether you agree with him or not."
The event will take place at Mintworks, Kendal, on Thursday February 7 at 2pm. Places are limited and bookings are on a first-come, first-served basis.
