1 Ulverston Pantomime Society presents its annual production this weekend, with Cinderella promising a night of dancing, singing and great entertainment. Go along for an evening of family fun with some spectacular pantomime twists – and lots of audience participation. Shows are from January 23-25 at 7pm and January 26 at 12:30pm and 4pm.

2 Are you ready to rumble? For one night only, an event showcasing the very best of American wrestling is coming to The Forum this weekend.

Watch a team of fantastic wrestling professionals perform some of their world-famous moves at the event which also offers a free ‘meet and greet’ with all the sensational stars.

The show starts at 7.30pm on Saturday, January 26. Tickets are £13 and available on The Forum website.

3 Barrow Trades Union Council is hosting a special Holocaust Memorial Day event. – a whole day including screenings, readings and a candlelight vigil to remember the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust on Friday, January 25, at Cooke’s Studios.

The event is free but donations will be welcome. Doors open at 7pm.

4 Another extravaganza of wrestling is hitting Barrow this weekend when Aquatek Northern presents Knockout Wrestling live at Cloud Nine on Sunday night.

Knockout Wrestling is the new brand of professional wrestling in the Furness area and promises a great afternoon of entertainment for the whole family, with tickets starting at just £5.

5 Abbey House Hotel & Gardens will host its annual Winter Ball this Saturday night, promising a glittering evening filled with drinks, dinner and dancing.

That means it’s time to dust off those dancing shoes and enjoy an evening of great entertainment, with tickets priced at £40 per person to include a sparkling drinks reception, a delicious four-course dinner and live music from premier band My Mate Kate.

6 Barrow Park is running a Mental Health Mile event this Sunday afternoon to help support the issue of mental health via exercise. Organisers want as many people as possible to go along and join a friendly group in a beautiful environment to kick-start the year with outdoor exercise. Registration for the mile is in the Bandstand from 2pm.

7 Local four-piece guitar band Springfield are heading to Odd Frog and Tapas this weekend to play predominantly original music as well as some well-known covers to get audiences on their feet.

They will be playing from from 10.45pm to 1.45pm.

8 Ulverston’s Swim For all swimming sessions continue this weekend, inviting participants of all levels and aged between 16 and 55 to go along to Ulverston Leisure Centre. The event is held every Saturday from 2pm to 3pm.

9 The Netherwood Hotel at Grange is hosting a wedding fayre on Sunday, from 11am-3pm. Speak to some of the best suppliers, sample mouth-watering canapes and drink some sparkling Prosecco while finalising details of your big day!

10 Barrow Library’s Furness writers club continues this Friday afternoon. Go along and build confidence, speak with like-minded people and do a few writing exercises in a relaxed environment. The event is held every Friday from 3.45pm.
