ARTISAN chutney and jam maker Hawkshead Relish picked up an accolade at the North West Federation of Small Businesses' Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019.
The company's Anne Jones travelled from Hawkshead to Manchester to collect the award for business and product innovation. Competitors included infant formula milk company Kendal Nutricare Ltd.
Hawkshead Relish, whose fans include celebrity chefs and members of the royal family, will represent the North West in the national finals in London later this year.
Meanwhile, the food producer's black garlic pickle was highly commended at the Food Management Today Magazine Awards, held in Kensington.
Maria Whitehead MBE, co-owner of Hawkshead Relish, said: “Awards like these showcase our team’s total commitment to excellence.
"We are extremely proud of what we have achieved together, and we are thrilled that once more we have had the opportunity to showcase both our business and our home the Lake District to as wide an audience as possible."
The company's 100-plus products are handmade in a 16th century barn beside Esthwaite Water.
