A MULTI award-winning South Lakeland butchery business received the best English lamb product prize at the annual The Smithfield Awards - one of the UK’s most prestigious competitions for artisan food.
Dales Traditional Butchers at Kirkby Lonsdale won with its rosemary and garlic lamb rump. It also got nine gold awards for its dry cured back bacon, traditional pork pie, steak and Stilton pie, traditional pork sausage, honey and mustard sausage, Cumbrian roasted silverside, chicken jambalaya, spicy beef and vegetable stir fry and pork and chilli jam pie. The event is run by the Q Guild of Butchers.
