A SERVING Cumbrian police officer has pleaded not guilty to two charges arising from an incident on Beast Banks, Kendal in the early hours of Sunday, May 6 last year.
Sgt John McCreadie, 53, of Burneside, appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court yesterday, February 7, charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and also a second charge of dangerous driving.
The court heard that on the day in question, a marked Ford Transit police van was proceeding up Beast Banks after responding to a report of a domestic incident.
It is alleged the van was in collision with a 25-year-old woman, causing her long term injuries.
The case was committed to Preston Crown Court with a trial date set for March 12, and the defendant was granted unconditional bail until that date.
