RESCUE: Fire-fighters were called after a horse became stuck in mud
FIRE-FIGHTERS from Kirkby Stephen and Kendal were equine heroes when they rescued a horse which had become stuck in a muddy bog.
Crews, plus a mountain rescue team, were called to Ravenstonedale shortly after 5pm on Saturday after reports that horse was stuck in deep mud.
Working alongside a vet, they dug out the horse in an operation that lasted around two hours.
