A FOOD and gifts retailer based near Ingleton has expanded its business by branching out into the ‘outdoor living’ market.

Country Harvest has just started selling walking boots, fleeces, waterproof jackets and other accessories in its Outdoor Living Cabin, which also stocks garden furniture and pet accessories.

Owner Mike Clarke said: “I’ve owned this business for 10 years and once I had the idea to open this additional retail space I wondered why I’d never thought of it before!

“Our coffee shop has the most fantastic views of Ingleborough and with The Three Peaks being such a popular long distance route in this area it made sense to open a cabin selling outdoor gear.

“So many thousands of visitors drive up and down the A65 en route to Yorkshire and the Lakes, many going on walking adventures and holidays, and it’s those people we hope to attract.”

Country Harvest employs more than 70 people.
