A WOMAN in her 20s was hurt in a collision between her car and a small herd of cows said Cumbria Police.
Officers said the incident occurred at around 7:20pm yesterday on the A5902 at Lowick Green.
The woman, who is local, was driving a Peugeot.
An ambulance crew attended the scene and the motorist went to hospital with head and hand injuries.
Drivers were warned to avoid the area while the road was closed.
Following the incident, the farmer has told the police that he had to put down four of the cows involved in the collision.
The road was cleared by around 8:40pm.
