We, the undersigned residents of the South Lakes and beyond, offer our full support to any school pupils going on school climate strike on Friday, February 15 and/or Friday, March 15, 2019.
We entreat local head teachers not to stand in the way of pupils wishing to protest on this most important of issues.
School pupils have every right to be angry about the threat to the planet’s future and we are inspired by South Lakes school pupils’ courage in standing in solidarity with other school pupils taking action all around the world on Friday, February 15 and Friday, March 15.
As Sir David Attenborough says: “If we don’t take action, the collapse of our civilisations and the extinction of much of the natural world is on the horizon.”
