I WOULD like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to help me when my wife had a bad fall in Ambleside on Saturday, January 26.
We were walking down The Slack towards Esquire's when we caught the kerb and she fell into the large litter bin and the stone wall, causing facial injuries and sustained fractures to both upper arms.
Firstly I'd like to thank the dog walkers and locals who came to offer help. People arrived with a blanket and first aid kits and some hand warmers.
Secondly thank you to the paramedics who arrived for their professionalism and compassion, especially after having to stay with us at Royal Lancaster Infirmary until my wife was admitted.
Lastly, thank you to Paul and his colleagues at the Salutation Hotel for everything that they did for us.
This is why we have been coming to Ambleside for more than 30 years.
