Kendal Town 1 Glossop North End 3

Kendal Town are now four points adrift of safety after losing 3-1 to Glossop North End at The St and B Accountants Stadium.

First half goals by Jack Tuohy, Matthew Russell and Kane Hickman saw Kendal 3-0 down at the break, and despite a much improved second half which saw George Mason score, Kendal were unable to battle back, while Glossop held on to secure the priceless win.

Glossop made an imposing start and piled pressure onto Kendal who struggled to get out of their own half while Dominic Marie fired wide for the visitors.

Glossop opened the scoring on 13 minutes when Matthew Russell’s cross from the right was fumbled into the net by Kendal shot stopper Jao Mendez

However Kendal collapsed in two crazy minutes after Jack Tuohy latched onto a cutback before firing the ball past the keeper, while Kane Hickman scored a stunning strike from distance.

Kendal had brief moments in the attacking third, but were unable to test the Glossop keeper with the visitors comfortably 3-0 up at the break.

Glossop should have gone 4-0 two minutes into the second however fortunately for Kendal Mason Duffy saw his close range effort rebound off the post. However Kendal played much better during the second half and began to get the ball forward on many occasions.

Kendal got back into the game after 56 minutes when Kyle Delves laid the ball off to George Mason who finished from close range.

The visitors nearly restored their three goal advantage only for Peter Boyle to be denied by a good save from Mendez.

Kendal missed two good opportunities through Ryan Moore who saw his header palmed away for a corner, while Brandon Lee saw his close range strike cleared off the line.

However deep into stoppage time, Cory Vickers headed the ball wide before Glossop held to secure an important win.
