Kendal Town have picked up mixed results from their last two games as the club continues to battle for survival in Evo Stik West.

On Saturday, Kendal defeated Market Drayton Town 3-2 in one of the most dramatic games of the season.

The weather was horrendous, the pitch conditions were terrible and there was so much to talk about, especially during the first half.

Kendal didn’t play that well, but found a way to win, as the team did the double over the same opponents, who they defeated 4-2 a few weeks ago.

Kendal showed great fight and spirit in that clash to overcome a team who had picked up some good form. At that stage the victory saw Kendal go to within four points of Clitheroe.

However, on Tuesday night Kendal crashed to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Skelmersdale United.

The defeat is a huge blow for the team, who knew that victory would have seen them go to within one point of safety.

Kendal remain four points adrift and they face a tough run in over the next few weeks, during which they play some of the top six teams in Radcliffe, Runcorn, Leek and Trafford.

The Mintcakes are scheduled to entertain second-placed Radcliffe on Saturday for what will be a huge challenge for the team.
