THERE has been another series of burglaries in Kendal.

Police are investigating after an occupant on Stainbank Road was woken to the sound of glass breaking when offenders managed to force entry into the property.

Officers say the incident happened on Thursday March 7 at around 2.30 am and that the suspects made off when they were disturbed by the occupant.

Another residential burglary happened last week on Valley Drive between March 2 and March 9. Offenders managed to force access into the home which was unoccupied at the time. Police have said it is unknown whether anything was taken.

On Friday March 8 a property on Brigsteer road was broken into at around 9.45pm. Officers say the suspects made off on foot.

These incidents come at a time when police revealed last week that in the last six months 42 break-ins had taken place across the town. Last year over the same time period there were only 11 reported incidents of burglary.

A police spokesperson said: "We are asking that if you know that your family, friends or neighbours properties have been unoccupied for a period of time then check the premises to ensure they are still secure.

"If anyone has witnessed any suspicious activity in the area around that time call 101."
