I SAW the picture from the past in the Gazette on March 7. The man sowing corn is Tommy Hesmondalsh.
He worked for my uncle, Mr John Grisedale, of Bays Brown Farm, Great Langdale.
The field is known as 'Back a Beck' (Back of the Beck).
