A KIRKBY Lonsdale woman has launched a campaign for safer roads in the South Lakes town.
Suzie Pye set up the ‘The 20s Plenty Campaign’ as a petition for a 20mph speed limit to be set for Kirkby Lonsdale.
“To drive from one end of Kirkby Lonsdale to the other at 30mph takes two minutes,” she said.
“To drive at 20mph takes three minutes and has the real potential to save lives and prevent injury as well as creating a better environment on residential roads.
“The sooner we adopt the ‘20s Plenty’ initiative then the greater the opportunity for prevention of accidents, and benefits in quality of life on our streets.”
