REMOVING a tall Victorian chimney from St Mary's Hospice at Ulverston would "diminish" the property's architectural interest, decided South Lakeland District Council.
The hospice at Ford Park Crescent had sought consent to dismantle the masonry stack, and slate over the void, to help prevent water getting into the 1850s part of the building.
