NIGHT-time street lighting was discussed by Silverdale Parish Council.
Cllr Keith Palmer questioned if the village streets needed to be lit between 1am and 6pm.
Issues of cost, crime prevention, safety and the environment were considered by parish councillors.
They heard Lancashire County Council was replacing old lampposts with LED ones as they failed, in a "piecemeal" fashion.
Parish councillors agreed to look at different options for lighting Silverdale's public toilets and the Millennium clock, including solar power.
Materials to refurbish benches in the parish have been ordered, costing £1212.63. Seats at the parish clock and outside St John's Primary School have already been refitted.
Meanwhile, the council has been in touch with MPs David Morris, for Morecambe and Lunesdale, and Tim Farron, for Westmorland and Lonsdale, about "poor" mobile phone reception in the coastal village.
Mr Morris asked for further details of tricky locations.
