EXPLORER and broadcaster Paul Rose is to give the Friends of the Lake District Kirby Lecture at Kendal Town Hall on Friday, April 26, at 7.30pm.
The charity's patron is to deliver "an enthusiastic and positive perspective of global issues such as ocean health and plastic pollution while celebrating conservation in Cumbria".
Audience members are invited to "come with enquiring minds and difficult questions".
Mr Rose is the former vice-president of the Royal Geographical Society and chair of the expeditions and fieldwork division.
He is expedition leader for the National Geographic Pristine Seas Expeditions, and lives in Cumbria when not on his travels.
Mr Rose's lecture will be illustrated with film, images and behind-the-scenes stories from the BBC TV series The Lake District with Paul Rose.
