Kendal Town showed many sides to their performance after losing 3-2 to Leek Town at the ST and B Accountants Stadium.

If you look at desire, spirit and work rate the team never fail to disappoint. However, defensive mistakes as well as misplaced passes continue to cause huge problems for the club.

Leek, who were one point outside the playoffs, deserved the win. They dominated play but somehow the game remained goalless at half time, despite the visitors creating a lot of chances.

Kendal worked tirelessly during the first half, as they defended bravely, while Jao Mendez made some crucial saves with Leek gradually getting frustrated.

The pattern of play continued in the same theme after half time, although Kendal began to push the ball forward and apply some pressure.

However, one mistake turned the game, as Adebisi ran through and scored before two manic moments saw Trickett Smith score twice to put Leek 3-0 in front.

Kendal kept going and showed great spirit in the last five minutes as they scored twice to somehow get back into the game. The introduction of Aiden Pearson, Peter Baxendale and Aaron Helliwell from the substitutes bench made a difference as Kendal found a way back.

But time was against Kendal and Leek held on to secure the victory.
