TEDDY and family fun is promised at Muncaster Castle this Easter weekend with not one but two Easter Egg Hunts to keep the kids 'sweet' and occupied. On Good Friday and Saturday there's an Easter Egg Trail in the gardens of the castle with a small prize for completing the trail. Then on Easter Sunday and Monday the famous Muncaster Giant Easter Egg Hunt takes place from 12.30pm. Registration at the Carriage House gift shop is required by 12.15pm latest. Places are limited so don't be late, and there's a small prize for all participants, too. Also, remember, Teddies Go Free, this means if children take along their favourite teddy they gain free entry; great news for mums and dads! Muncaster Castle is in Ravenglass and is open from 10.30am-5pm.

AN AUDIENCE with Cannon and Ball. The comedy duo brings their own magical and unique brand of humour to The Platform tomorrow (Friday, 7.30pm), featuring their legendary sketches and routines, songs, anecdotes, as well as a question and answer session. It was in the 1960s when Robert Harper and Thomas Derbyshire found themselves working at the same factory in Oldham, Lancashire, as welders.

They got on well and as Robert had a sideline of singing in local clubs, he invited Thomas to go along with him. Robert was singing under the name of Stevie Rhythm and eventually Thomas became part of the act. They sang as a duo under the name of The Sherrell Brothers and later called themselves The Harper Brothers. Towards the end of the 60s they decided that they were earning more money from their act than they were welding and they made the decision to give up their day jobs to concentrate on the act full time. They changed their name to Cannon and Ball and turned professional. The name worked and the rest, as they say, is history!
