The Lake District is now a Unesco Heritage Site, but dog owners are ruining the environment.
On April 10 my partner and I decided to walk along the Wordsworth Walk. We were thoroughly disgusted with the number of filled ‘dog pooh’ bags littering the route.
It was a glorious day, perfect for this route, but the walk was ruined by these filled black bags. Worst of all was the area in and around the quarries and Rydal Caves.
While we understand that dog owners have as much right to walk these routes, as we do, they do not have the right to leave these offensive items along the route.
It is time for dog owners to take responsibility for their own actions after their beloved dog defecates.
Perhaps your readers would like to walk this route and verify our findings.
