KENDAL Leisure Centre is set to introduce pay and display parking.
A spokesperson for Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), which manages the centre, said: “The car park at Kendal Leisure Centre provides convenient access for our customers.
"After carefully monitoring its use, it has become clear that there has been increased use of the car park by people that do not use the centre.
"This is having an adverse effect on centre customers, many of whom need car parking access close to the building due to issues with mobility.
“GLL has been working with South Lakeland District Council to help address this issue and will be introducing paid parking for non-customers from 13th May 2019.
“By displaying a valid parking ticket, customers will be able to park free of charge for up to 3 hours (4 hours for blue badge holders).”
Charges will be £3.90 for up to four hours, £5.00 for up to six hours, and £6.00 for up to ten hours.
