RETIRED people are invited to take afternoon tea and enjoy 1940s-style music at McCarthy and Stone's Williamson Court apartments in Lancaster tomorrow (Friday).

The developer is hosting a spring fair at the Greaves Road property from 2pm to 4pm.

Dainty sandwiches and cakes prepared by the on-site chef will be served, and there will be entertainment from the Bluebird Belles, a professional 1940s and vintage vocal harmony trio.

Lyndsey Walker, the dedicated estate manager at Williamson Court, said staff and homeowners were looking forward to welcoming local retired folk, while raising money for two worthy causes - St John's Hospice, Lancaster, and Coram Beanstalk, McCarthy and Stone’s chosen national charity of the year which aims to tackle child illiteracy.

Prices for the remaining properties at Williamson Court start from £169,999 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £229,999 for a two-bedroom flat.

The development offers a rooftop terrace with views towards Morecambe Bay, a waitress-service restaurant and bespoke care support if needed.
