Police warning public to be on their guard against mattress sellers
POLICE are warning Kendal residents to be on their guard following reports that the occupants of a white van touring the area are cold calling at homes offering mattresses for sale.
"We would like to reiterate previous advice – please do not buy products from traders on the doorstep," said a police spokesman. Police added that there are no guarantees that the mattress complies with the relevant fire safety regulations. They may also be of inferior quality and grossly overpriced.
