THANKS to local community support Kirkby Lonsdale has installed a new defibrillator at the Lunesdale Sports Centre, at Queen Elizabeth School.
The new machine was funded by Kirkby Lonsdale Hockey Club.
Kim Bradshaw, Community Sports Coordinator said: “The new defibrillator has been a real community project.
"I was initially approached by the local Hockey Club to ask if they could fund the new defibrillator as they saw a need for a life saving device to be situated at the new Lunesdale Sports Centre.
"We then contacted the Town Council and Christopher Robin Trust who kindly helped fund the cabinet”.
Defibrillators have already been installed at numerous locations around town but this is the first that will be at this side of town covering the sports facility and local residents.
Training will be provided, just email Kim Bradshaw on k.bradhsaw@lunesdaletrust.co.uk to register your interest.
