AN application to get public parking re-instated on Kendal's New Road has been withdrawn.
In January David Fone submitted an application to Michael Gove, the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to turn the land between New Road and the River Kent back into a car park.
An SLDC spokesperson said: "In a letter from the planning inspectorate we have been told the application is now treated as withdrawn, and no further action will be taken to progress it."
