These stunning pictures of a pair of avocets were taken from the Allan hide at RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve last week by Westmorland Gazette Camera Club member John Bamber.
John said: "I am a retired computer engineer living in Holme, a member of Holme and District Photographic Society.
"My interest in photography started with cave photography and progressed into mountains and I have been lucky enough as volunteer safety support to have taken pictures in the High Arctic and other cold places.
"I have always been interested in wildlife of all sorts and taking pictures of them is a bonus."
