This is a note of thanks to everyone for making a very memorable holiday for eight ladies.

We booked Barn Cottage at Hawes for one week in April with the notion to do some walking and getting about. We certainly achieved our goals and in some ways exceeded our expectations.

The accommodation was adequate, the walking was wonderful, the people of Hawes were extremely friendly AND as Wallace would say "the weather was grand".

The staff in The Dales Museum and Creamery were very helpful and the voluntary drivers we met on The Little White Bus were wonderful. Their courtesy with everyone, locals and visitors, was second to none, in fact I visited their offices and recommended them highly.

Added to our delight was The Institute in Burtersett. What a find, a warm cuppa and biscuit were great for morning and late afternoon refreshments. The coffee after Easter morning service in the church was also much appreciated.

For our final night celebration we dined in The Chippie and for £10 we enjoyed a fish and chip supper complete with mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of Yorkshire tea, what a feast.

To end, It was a first-time visit to Hawes for some of the group but those of us who had visited before were once again not disappointed and I'm sure we will all return.

To everyone, keep up the good work and best wishes for the rest of the season.
