A MUM was overjoyed to find that her daughters memorial bench had been restored to its rightful place after it was damaged.
Catherine Stobbart, from Kendal, had been visiting nearly every day for three months to see if the public bench had been reinstated after it was vandalised in February.
Mrs Stobbart's world fell apart when her daughter, Rachel also known as Ray, suddenly died aged 33 in 2018.
The bench, which was installed in January, was placed in Nobles Rest in memory of her daughter and it had just been in the park for a month before it was cruelly damaged.
Friends and family had been paying visits to the park to see if the bench had returned.
Mrs Stobbart said she was "so happy" to see it had been restored as it would have been Rachel's birthday on May 8.
