TWO people and their dog had to be rescued after they got stuck while ascending a gully during a hike.
On Sunday, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team were called by Cumbria Police to rescue the couple and their cocker spaniel who had become cragfast while ascending a gully onto Scrubby Crag.
A spokesperson from the team said: "The rescue involved setting up a rope system to lower each person down separately to the valley floor, including the very vocal spaniel."
Due to the location of the rescue the callout lasted more than seven hours and it was attended by 11 team members.
