MOTORISTS travelling south on the M6 faced major disruption as the southbound carriageway was completely closed due to a police incident this morning.
The M6 was shut from J36, A590 Kirkby Lonsdale, to J34, A683 Bay Gateway this morning.
All lanes have now been re-opened including the Northbound carriageway at J34 which was also closed.
UPDATE: Junction 34 -35 of the M6 motorway has now re-opened in both directions.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 5am this morning and officers were diverting traffic off the motorway.
The Southbound carriageway closure was extended to J36 to allow lorries a suitable diversion route.
The M6 is now open in both directions at J34 following an earlier Police incident. Thanks for your patience.

The diversion route was 20 miles long.
