The Greek spot serves up traditional options, including gyros and baklava, as well as classic fillers like bacon sandwiches.

One happy customer wrote: "This meal is cooked from scratched and it's worth the wait it's so fresh and very filling, would definitely recommend it. Bolton's little gem."

Another said: "Great little cafe, with amazing fresh Greek food. Great for lunch and great for a quick meal."

One customer added: "A pleasure to see a family run business with really tasty food for a bargain price. Don't be put off by the size of the premises. It is clean, homely and the owners are friendly. Ignore going to the run of the mill chains."

A local favourite, if not for the amazing food, for the ever-welcoming host Alain Job.

This Bolton Market spot has been serving up African flavours for years, with curried goat and oxtail being among the specialities. All of the dishes retail for around £6.

One happy customer said: "So I’ve been popping along for years to this amazing man for goat curry for the last few years.

"It’s fair to say that this is the only thing I can think of eating because it is superb!! I’ve tried the rest of the sumptuous food on offer but hell! The curried goat I would run a marathon for!!! Keep up the good work you beautiful man."

3. Odessa

This lunch spot has been around for years and has never lost its charm.

The options are endless as you can pick from a host of salad toppings, jacket potato flavourings and sandwich fillings from the Odessa deli.

Along with a slew of other great reviews, one reviewer wrote: "Spectacular sandwiches, splendid staff, seasonal salads, warm wraps, wholesome homemade food. Lovely meat and cheese counter... what more could you ask for?"

4. Misto Pizzeria & Trattoria

MISTO Pizzeria & Trattoria is one of Bolton's best Italians, according to customers. 

The Horwich restaurant is ranked fourth out of all of the cheap eats in Bolton, with a menu filled with pasta and pizza.

One customer said: "We really enjoyed the whole eating experience, including the food, service, informal atmosphere, and especially the value-for-money. Luckily, we booked before arriving, because the restaurant soon filled up and, on this visit, we can see why."

THIS tiny spot is off the beaten track in Deane Road, but it's worth the walk. The choice of three different fresh curries gets you some of the best bang for your buck.

On reviewer said: "Really is a hidden gem this place, the food is amazing.

"It's nothing too fancy inside but you can get a traditional curry and sit in for £3.60!

"If you want a tasty curry then I can highly recommend it."
