POLICE are investigating an incident after a fell pony was shot with a firearm.
Officers say the fell pony was shot near Salterwath in Shap.
Police would like to identify and speak to three men in a small white Peugeot van who were seen in the area as part of the enquiry.
The incident happened between May 3 and May 4.
Officers say the fell pony had to be put down by a vet.
