TONIGHT'S the night (Thursday, 7.30pm) for Burneside Amateur Theatrical Society as director Gordon Lawson's talented performers start a three-night run of The Ladykillers at The Bryce. A stage adaptation by Father Ted creator Graham Linehan based on the Ealing comedy film of the same name, the play is a classic black comedy, which tells of sweet Mrs Wilberforce, alone in her house, pitted against Professor Marcus and his gang of criminal misfits. The BATS version has one of the largest sets ever constructed at the Burneside venue. The Ladykillers runs until Saturday, June 1. Tickets at www.batsburneside.co.uk.
