AN exhibition that pays homage to a Auschwitz survivor who came to the Lake District in 1945 is now showing at the Lake District Holocaust Project (LDHP) in Windermere.
Titled ‘Minia’ the exhibition is a personal reflection and small booklet publication based on the very close friendship between Minia Jay and Trevor Avery, Director of LDHP
Mr Avery paid homage to the remarkable woman and said: “The story of Minia is just a wonderful story of a life force who refused to bow down to despair.
“She had a terrific life after the Holocaust and I wanted to produce something that reflected that survival, and her love of life.”
The specially commissioned exhibition is supported by Arts Council England.
It will run until August 3, 2019.
LDHP open during library hours: Monday 0930-1300, Tuesday 0930-1700,
