FOLK singer Mike Harding, who lives at Settle, has received an award to coincide with Kirkby Lonsdale hosting the country's biggest traditional Irish music festival.
The Irish Musicians Association - Comhaltas Ceoiltóirí Éireann - has bestowed the title of Ard-Ollamh on Mr Harding, which translates as "High Bard" of the festival, or fleadh.

More than 600 musicians will be heading to Kirkby Lonsdale for the 2019 All-Britain Traditional Irish Music Festival, from June 28 to 30.
