THE ambitious Eden Project plan which it is hoped will help rejuvenate Morecambe has won support from Tourism Minister Rebecca Pow.
Morecambe and Lunesdale MP David Morris brought up the project in the House of Commons last week when he appealed for backing for the project.
And in reply, Ms Pow praised the ethos of the project with regard to environmental issues, awareness and sustainability.
"I absolutely wish him very well in his endeavours and I do look forward to hearing how it is going to progress," she added.
Mr Morris said her words were very encouraging and pledged that he would continue to work on the case for funding the project.
"I am pleased that the Minister was supportive of the proposal for Eden, this support from Ministers in all departments is vital when the case for Government funding is being made," said Mr Morris.
