NEW figures reveal that Kendal is one of the top ten places in the country for learner drivers to pass their tests.

Insurance company Marmalade has analysed ten years of pass rate data from qualified drivers, aged 17-25, and found Kendal to be the tenth best place in the country, out of 332 centres, to take a driving test.

Kendal has an average pass rate of 62.68 per cent which is comfortably above the UK average of 54.4 per cent. When analysing monthly rates at Kendal, July topped all other months of the year with a 65.09 per cent pass rate.

Kendal’s pass rate is also approximately 10 per cent higher than that of Heysham (52.24 per cent) and four per cent greater than Barrow-in-Furness (58.56 per cent). In fact, Kendal is the only practical driving test centre in Cumbria to land a spot in the top 10 easiest places to pass a practical driving test.

The easiest place to pass a driving test in the UK is at Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute, with a pass rate of 73.68 per cent while the toughest place is Belvedere in London with a 31.20 per cent pass rate.
